St. Luke's Pollinator LOVE Garden

   Our pollinator garden is like most of the things we do at church - a chance to practice and learn together so that we take our learnings home and share with others!  You are welcome to join us in the garden - even if you don't come to church !

POLLINATOR PLANT LIST & Info 

 

Asclepias tuberosa (Butterfly Weed) – perennial - butterflies, bees, other insects, hummingbirds and is the larval food plant for the queen and monarch butterflies. 
Eutrochium fistulosum (Joe Pye Weed) – perennial – butterflies and bees.
Monarda fistulosa (beebalm) – perennial – bees
Monarda punctata (Spotted Mint) – perennial – attracts many pollinators, including wasps. 
Packera aurea (Golden Ragwort) – perennial – butterflies.
Penstemon calycosus (Long Sepal Beardstongue) -perennial – butterflies, moths. 
Penstemon digitalis (Beardstongue) – perennial – birds and butterflies.
Salvia lyota ‘Purple Knockout’ – perennial – bees and butterflies.
Solidago ‘Little Lemon’ and ‘Fireworks’ (Goldenrod) – perennial – bumblebees, monarchs and other butterflies. 
Lantana ‘confetti’ and ‘Dallas Red’ – annual in our area – birds, butterflies, moths
Penta lanceolate – annual in our area – hummingbirds and butterflies. 
Zinnia – annual – butterflies and hummingbirds.
