Fellowship at St. Lukes

Fun is a part of our life together at St. Luke’s. There are parish picnics on the church lawn, pancake suppers, and the annual Christmas party for everyone, and we will find any excuse for a potluck meal. Coffee hour immediately following every Sunday worship service offers parishioners and visitors a chance to connect among friends.

St. Luke’s Day is celebrated in October, and special activities are organized to celebrate events such as the Bishop’s visit to the parish. Groups are encouraged to sponsor events for their own members and for the parish at large. It is difficult to draw the line between what is purely educational and what is purely social at St. Luke’s. A number of activities combine elements of both.

Supper Group

This purely social group is open to all adults of the parish.  Group members meet in each other’s homes several times a year for potluck dinners, and occasionally arrange theater outings and picnics.

S-Cubed

S-Cubed (or S3) is a very informal fellowship group of the adults in St. Luke’s that meets to share a simple supper and to hear a speaker on an interesting subject. The group meets the first Monday of each month in the evening at Church.

Women of St. Luke’s

All women of the parish are considered members of the Women of St. Luke’s group and are invited to participate. The organization’s purpose is to “unite the women of St. Luke’s in service to one another, the parish and the community,” an objective accomplished through a variety of activities. The group meets at 11:30 a.m. the third Tuesday of each month in Ludlum Hall for lunch, conversation, and various presentations. Twice each year the group sponsors a rummage sale to raise funds that it donates for various purposes in St. Luke’s and the wider community.
